On September 10, 2011 (the day of my first wedding anniversary), I woke up early, took the wife out for a nice breakfast and then bid farewell to her for the rest of the day to shoot Erika and Alan’s wedding. Didn’t I tell you I have a supportive and VERY understanding wife?

Erika and Alan chose to go with an urban theme and had a downtown wedding. The surroundings really suited this hip and happening couple. We braved the busy streets during the Toronto International Film Festival and got some amazing shots. We even hung out with a few police officers to capture some pretty hilarious moments too. Erika and Alan totally rocked it!

Congrats guys!

Stephanie is close friends with my baby sister and I have known her for many years now. So, I was honoured when Stephanie asked me to photograph her and Dave’s engagement pictures. Since Stephanie and Dave are planning to have their wedding at a winery, we thought it would be ideal to photograph their engagement session during a wine tasting tour.

The winery gave us some cool backgrounds to play around with. The surroundings perfectly enhanced Stephanie and Dave’s fun and easygoing style. This was a great shoot.

I am very thankful that Andrea and Dale chose me to document their wedding day. They had an outdoor wedding, surrounded by family and friends, followed by an indoor reception. As a photographer, I was captivated by the love Andrea and Dale have for one another and how happy they were to finally be married.

The happiest people really are the most beautiful people.

Kirby and Curtis had a beautiful wedding in Cambridge, Ontario, which they successfully planned while working in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. These two met in chiropractic school in Toronto and then moved out west to work. It was nice they came back to Kirby’s hometown for their wedding.

This couple had a gorgeous day and I especially enjoyed the little personal touches for their wedding:

  • Kirby and Curtis signature cocktails at the reception
  • Personalized parasols for their Thank You cards
  • Kirby’s Saskatchewan Roughriders themed garter

My absolute favourite part was when we took a break during the formal shots. The entire bridal party ended up getting fries at a local lemonade shack that Kirby’s father used to take her to all the time when she was a little girl. Now that’s what makes memories.

I had an extraordinary engagement photography session with Allie and Rick. They were so natural that sometimes it felt like they didn’t know the camera was around. Although Allie and Rick are very down to earth, they also aren’t shy to let their goofy side show.  It was especially fun watching Allie (a true Yogi – that’s right, she’s an instructor) demonstrate some Yoga moves and Rick have a challenging time keeping up with her!

Thanks Allie and Rick. Really looking forward to your upcoming winter wedding!

Serena - Stunning pictures of a beautiful couple!!

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read one page.” – Saint Augustine

Travelling will expose you to new things, make you question your views and may even change your life forever.

I think Andre would agree with me on this one since he met Norie during a trip to Japan. What are the odds of that happening? Call it luck. Call it fate. Regardless, Norie and Andre make a wonderful couple and they were a pleasure to photograph.

For me, shooting quirky and comedic couples is such a treat! Jose and Jennilee totally suit this description. They chose to take the unconventional route and had a really nice and relaxed wedding. Jennilee and Jose complemented the bright, sunny day with vibrant colours and their unique charm (yup, Jose’s signature bow tie was in action).

This pair was so cool. They decided to take the subway as their mode of wedding day transportation. I really enjoyed photographing them around the city streets. Plus, the reception was held at one of my favourite restaurants in Yorkville. Score!

Sometimes, you don’t need to do anything spectacular to have memorable engagement pictures. Angel and Kevin wanted to keep it real. So we focused our photo session on some of their regular activities for any ordinary day. Sure, reading books, taking long walks and eating ice cream may not seem exciting at first, but after a closer look you realize these usually turn out to be the good times you want to remember.

Congrats Angel and Kevin!
